الختر: غدر يختر فيه الإنسان، أي: يضعف ويكسر لاجتهاده فيه، قال الله تعالى: كل ختار كفور [لقمان/ 32].

el-Hatr: İnsanın işlediği bir ihanettir (gadr); yani kişi, ona (bu ihanete) gösterdiği aşırı gayret sebebiyle zayıflar ve kırılır. Allah şöyle buyurmuştur: "Her hain-gaddar (hattâr) nankördür" [31:32].
