الشكس: السيئ الخلق، وقوله تعالى: شركاء متشاكسون [الزمر/ 29]، أي: متشاجرون لشكاسة خلقهم.

الشَّكِس (eş-şekis): Huyu kötü, geçimsiz kimse. Allah Teâlâ'nın şu sözü: شركاء متشاكسون (şürakâü müteşâkisûn) "birbiriyle çekişen ortaklar" [39:29], yani: huylarının geçimsizliği (شَكاسة / şekâset) sebebiyle birbirleriyle çekişip kavga eden kimseler.
