قال الله عز وجل: رواسي شامخات [المرسلات/ 27]، أي: عاليات، ومنه: شمخ بأنفه عبارة عن الكبر.

Aziz ve celil olan Allah “رواسي شامخات (yüce/yüksek dağlar)” [77:27] buyurmuştur, yani: yüksek olanlar. Bundan türeyen “شمخ بأنفه (burnunu dikti)” ifadesi kibirden kinayedir.
