الضير: المضرة، يقال: ضاره وضره. قال تعالى: لا ضير إنا إلى ربنا منقلبون [الشعراء/ 50]، وقوله: لا يضركم كيدهم شيئا [آل عمران/ 120].

ed-Dayr: zarar demektir. "Dârahû" ve "darrahû" (ona zarar verdi) denir. Yüce Allah şöyle buyurdu: "Zararı yok, biz şüphesiz Rabbimize döneceğiz" [26:50]. Ve şöyle buyurdu: "Onların hilesi size hiçbir zarar vermez" [3:120].
