قال تعالى: من كل فج عميق [الحج/ 27]، أي: بعيد. وأصل العمق: البعد سفلا، يقال: بئر عميق ومعيق : إذا كانت بعيدة القعر.

Yüce Allah şöyle buyurmuştur: "her derin/uzak vadiden" [22:27], yani uzak (yerlerden). العمق'un aslı: aşağıya doğru uzaklıktır. "بئر عميق ومعيق" denir; dibi uzak (yani derin) olan kuyu için (bu iki kelime kullanılır).
