لفح

يقال: لفحته الشمس والسموم. قال تعالى: تلفح وجوههم النار [المؤمنون/ 104] وعنه استعير: لفحته بالسيف.

"Lefehathü'ş-şems ve's-semûm" (güneş ve kavurucu sıcak rüzgâr onu kavurup çarptı) denir. Yüce Allah şöyle buyurdu: "Ateş yüzlerini yalar (kavurur)" [23:104]. Buradan ödünç alınarak (istiâre yoluyla) "lefahtühü bi's-seyf" (onu kılıçla vurup kavurdum) denir.
