ولقد قارب المشركون أن يصرفوك -أيها الرسول- عن القرآن الذي أنزله الله إليك؛ لتختلق علينا غير ما أوحينا إليك، ولو فعلت ما أرادوه لاتخذوك حبيبًا خالصًا.

Tafsir al-Muyassarfree-distribution

Seni, sana vahyettiğimizden ayırıp başka bir şeyi Bize karşı uydurman için uğraşırlar. O zaman seni dost edinirler.

(Ey Muhammed!) Az kalsın seni bile, sana vahyettiğimizden başkasını bize karşı iftira edesin diye, fitneye düşüreceklerdi ve o takdirde seni dost edineceklerdi.
