الصخر: الحجر الصلب. قال تعالى: فتكن في صخرة [لقمان/ 16]، وقال: وثمود الذين جابوا الصخر بالواد [الفجر/ 9].

Es-Sahr: Sert taş, kayadır. Yüce Allah şöyle buyurmuştur: "...ve bir kayanın içinde olsa..." [31:16]. Yine şöyle buyurmuştur: "Ve vadide kayaları oyan Semûd (kavmini)..." [89:9].
