يبس

يبس الشيء ييبس، واليبس: يابس النبات، وهو ما كان فيه رطوبة فذهبت، واليبس: المكان يكون فيه ماء فيذهب. قال تعالى: فاضرب لهم طريقا في البحر يبسا [طه/ 77] والأيبسان : ما لا لحم عليه من الساقين إلى الكعبين.

"Yebise'ş-şey', yeybesu" (bir şey kurudu, kurur). el-Yebs: bitkinin kurumuşudur; bu, içinde nem/rutubet bulunup da giden şeydir. el-Yebs: içinde su bulunup da (suyu) giden yerdir. Yüce Allah şöyle buyurdu: "Onlar için denizde kuru bir yol aç" [20:77]. el-Eybesân: baldırlardan aşık kemiklerine (topuklara) kadar üzerinde et bulunmayan (iki kemik)tir.
