الوسوسة: الخطرة الرديئة، وأصله من الوسواس، وهو صوت الحلي، والهمس الخفي. قال الله تعالى: فوسوس إليه الشيطان [طه/ 120]، وقال: من شر الوسواس [الناس/ 4] ويقال لهمس الصائد وسواس.

el-Vesvese: Kötü (içe doğan) düşünce. Aslı "vesvâs"tan gelir; o da ziynet eşyasının (takının) çıkardığı ses ve gizli fısıltıdır. Allah Teâlâ şöyle buyurmuştur: فوسوس إليه الشيطان "Derken şeytan ona vesvese verdi" [20:120]. Ve şöyle buyurmuştur: من شر الوسواس "O sinsi vesvesecinin (vesvâsın) şerrinden" [114:4]. Avcının (gizlice çıkardığı) fısıltıya da vesvâs denir.
