وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هَلْ تُحِسُّ مِنْهُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ أَوْ تَسْمَعُ لَهُمْ رِكْزًۢا

EN

But how many (countless) generations before them have We destroyed? Canst thou find a single one of them (now) or hear (so much as) a whisper of them?

وكثيرًا أهلكنا - أيها الرسول - من الأمم السابقة قبل قومك، ما ترى منهم أحدًا وما تسمع لهم صوتًا، فكذلك الكفار من قومك، نهلكهم كما أهلكنا السابقين من قبلهم. وفي هذا تهديد ووعيد بإهلاك المكذبين المعاندين.
