وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ فَٱخْتُلِفَ فِيهِ ۚ وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَقُضِىَ بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَفِى شَكٍّ مِّنْهُ مُرِيبٍ

Translation

EN

We certainly gave the Book to Moses, but differences arose therein: had it not been that a word had gone forth before from thy Lord, the matter would have been decided between them, but they are in suspicious doubt concerning it.

We gave Moses the Scripture before you, but differences arose about it and if it had not been for a prior word from your Lord, a decision would already have been made between them, though they are in grave doubt about it.

And we verily gave unto Moses the Scripture, and there was strife thereupon; and had it not been for a Word that had already gone forth from thy Lord, the case would have been judged between them, and lo! they are in grave doubt concerning it.

And We had certainly given Moses the Scripture, but it came under disagreement. And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord, it would have been judged between them. And indeed they are, concerning it [i.e., the Qur’ān], in disquieting doubt.

And olsun ki, Musa'ya Kitap verdik; onda ayrılığa düştüler. Eğer Rabbinin verilmiş bir sözü olmasaydı, aralarında çoktan hükmedilmiş olurdu. Doğrusu onlar, Kitap'ın Allah katından olduğunda şüphe ve endişe içindedirler.

Andolsun ki, Musa'ya kitabı verdik, yine de onda ihtilafa düşüldü. Eğer Rabbinden daha önce verilmiş bir karar olmasa idi, elbette haklarında hüküm verilmiş bitmişti. Muhakkak ki onlar, bundan kuşkulu bir şüphe içindedirler.

ولقد آتينا موسى الكتاب وهو التوراة، فاختلف فيه قومه، فآمن به جماعة وكفر به آخرون كما فعل قومك بالقرآن. ولولا كلمة سبقت من ربك بأنه لا يعجل لخلقه العذاب، لحلَّ بهم في دنياهم قضاء الله بإهلاك المكذِّبين ونجاة المؤمنين. وإن الكفار من اليهود والمشركين -أيها الرسول- لفي شك -من هذا القرآن- مريب.
