كَيْفَ وَإِن يَظْهَرُوا۟ عَلَيْكُمْ لَا يَرْقُبُوا۟ فِيكُمْ إِلًّا وَلَا ذِمَّةً ۚ يُرْضُونَكُم بِأَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَتَأْبَىٰ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ فَـٰسِقُونَ

الترجمة

إن شأن المشركين أن يلتزموا بالعهود ما دامت الغلبة لغيرهم، أما إذا شعروا بالقوة على المؤمنين فإنهم لا يراعون القرابة ولا العهد، فلا يغرنكم منهم ما يعاملونكم به وقت الخوف منكم، فإنهم يقولون لكم كلامًا بألسنتهم؛ لترضوا عنهم، ولكن قلوبهم تأبى ذلك، وأكثرهم متمردون على الإسلام ناقضون للعهد.

Nasıl olabilir ki, size üstün gelselerdi ne bir yakınlık, ne de bir ahd gözetirlerdi. Kalpleriyle istemezlerken sizi ağızlarıyla hoşnut etmeye uğraşırlar; çokları fasıktırlar.

How (can there be such a league), seeing that if they get an advantage over you, they respect not in you the ties either of kinship or of covenant? With (fair words from) their mouths they entice you, but their hearts are averse from you; and most of them are rebellious and wicked.
