وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَهُمُ ٱلطُّورَ بِمِيثَـٰقِهِمْ وَقُلْنَا لَهُمُ ٱدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْبَابَ سُجَّدًا وَقُلْنَا لَهُمْ لَا تَعْدُوا۟ فِى ٱلسَّبْتِ وَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُم مِّيثَـٰقًا غَلِيظًا

Translation

EN

And for their covenant we raised over them (the towering height) of Mount (Sinai); and (on another occasion) we said: "Enter the gate with humility"; and (once again) we commanded them: "Transgress not in the matter of the sabbath." And we took from them a solemn covenant.

We made the mountain tower high above them at their pledge; We said to them, ‘Enter the gate humbly,’ and, ‘Do not break the Sabbath,’ and took a solemn pledge from them.

And We caused the Mount to tower above them at (the taking of) their covenant: and We bade them: Enter the gate, prostrate! and We bode them: Transgress not the Sabbath! and We took from them a firm covenant.

Kitap ehli, senin kendilerine gökten bir kitap indirmeni isterler. Musa'dan bundan daha büyüğünü istemişlerdi ve "Bize Allah'ı apaçık göster" demişlerdi. Söz vermeleri (ve sözlerinde durmamaları) nedeniyle üzerlerine (Sînâ) Dağı’nı (âdeta) kaldırmıştık. (Başka bir sefer) onlara, “Baş eğerek kapıdan girin!” demiştik. (Bir başka zaman da) onlara, “Cumartesi günü sınırı aşmayın!”demiştik. Kendilerinden sağlam bir söz almıştık.

ورفعنا فوق رؤوسهم جبل الطور حين امتنعوا عن الالتزام بالعهد المؤكد الذي أعطوه بالعمل بأحكام التوراة، وأمرناهم أن يدخلوا باب "بيت المقدس" سُجَّدًا، فدخلوا يزحفون على أستاههم، وأمرناهم ألا يَعْتَدُوا بالصيد في يوم السبت فاعتدَوا، وصادوا، وأخذنا عليهم عهدًا مؤكدًا، فنقضوه.
