العنب يقال لثمرة الكرم، وللكرم نفسه، الواحدة: عنبة، وجمعه: أعناب. قال تعالى: ومن ثمرات النخيل والأعناب [النحل/ 67]، وقال تعالى: جنة من نخيل وعنب [الإسراء/ 91]، وجنات من أعناب [الرعد/ 4]، حدائق وأعنابا [النبأ/ 32]، وعنبا وقضبا وزيتونا [عبس/ 28- 29]، جنتين من أعناب [الكهف/ 32]، والعنبة: بثرة على هيئته.

el-Ineb (üzüm) hem asmanın meyvesine hem de asmanın kendisine denir. Tekili: inebe, çoğulu: a'nâb'dır. Allah Teâlâ şöyle buyurdu: "Hurma ağaçlarının ve üzümlerin (a'nâb) meyvelerinden..." [16:67]. Yine buyurdu: "Hurmalıklardan ve üzümden (ineb) bir bahçe" [17:91], "Üzümlerden (a'nâb) bahçeler" [13:4], "Bahçeler ve üzümler (a'nâb)" [78:32], "Üzüm (ineb), yonca (kadb) ve zeytin" [80:28, 80:29], "Üzümlerden (a'nâb) iki bahçe" [18:32]. el-Inebe: (Üzüm) biçiminde çıkan bir sivilce/kabarcıktır.
