إِن تُصِبْكَ حَسَنَةٌ تَسُؤْهُمْ ۖ وَإِن تُصِبْكَ مُصِيبَةٌ يَقُولُوا۟ قَدْ أَخَذْنَآ أَمْرَنَا مِن قَبْلُ وَيَتَوَلَّوا۟ وَّهُمْ فَرِحُونَ

Translation

EN

If good befalls thee, it grieves them; but if a misfortune befalls thee, they say, "We took indeed our precautions beforehand," and they turn away rejoicing.

If you [Prophet] have good fortune, it will grieve them, but if misfortune comes your way, they will say to themselves, ‘We took precautions for this,’ and go away rejoicing.

إن يصبك -أيها النبي- سرور وغنيمة يحزن المنافقون، وإن يلحق بك مكروه من هزيمة أو شدة يقولوا: نحن أصحاب رأي وتدبير قد احتطنا لأنفسنا بتخلفنا عن محمد، وينصرفوا وهم مسرورون بما صنعوا وبما أصابك من السوء.
