27:36

فَلَمَّا جَآءَ سُلَيْمَـٰنَ قَالَ أَتُمِدُّونَنِ بِمَالٍ فَمَآ ءَاتَىٰنِۦَ ٱللَّهُ خَيْرٌ مِّمَّآ ءَاتَىٰكُم بَلْ أَنتُم بِهَدِيَّتِكُمْ تَفْرَحُونَ

Translation

EN

Now when (the embassy) came to Solomon, he said: "Will ye give me abundance in wealth? But that which Allah has given me is better than that which He has given you! Nay it is ye who rejoice in your gift!

When her envoy came to Solomon, Solomon said, ‘What! Are you offering me wealth? What God has given me is better than what He has given you, though you rejoice in this gift of yours.

So when (the envoy) came unto Solomon, (the King) said: What! Would ye help me with wealth? But that which Allah hath given me is better than that which He hath given you. Nay it is ye (and not I) who exult in your gift.

So when they came to Solomon, he said, "Do you provide me with wealth? But what Allāh has given me is better than what He has given you. Rather, it is you who rejoice in your gift.

Süleyman'a geldiklerinde: "Bana mal ile yardım etmek mi istiyorsunuz? Allah'ın bana verdiği size verdiğinden daha iyidir. Ama belki de siz hediyenizle sevinirsiniz. Onlara dön! And olsun ki, güç yetiremeyecekleri bir ordu ile gelir onları oradan alçalmış ve küçük düşmüş olarak çıkarırız" dedi.

فلمَّا جاء رسول الملكة بالهديَّة إلى سليمان، قال مستنكرًا ذلك متحدثًا بأَنْعُمِ الله عليه: أتمدونني بمالٍ تَرْضيةً لي؟ فما أعطاني الله من النبوة والملك والأموال الكثيرة خير وأفضل مما أعطاكم، بل أنتم الذين تفرحون بالهدية التي تُهدى إليكم؛ لأنكم أهل مفاخرة بالدنيا ومكاثرة بها.
