ولقد أرسل الله إليكم النبيَّ الكريم يوسف بن يعقوب عليهما السلام من قبل موسى، بالدلائل الواضحة على صدقه، وأمركم بعبادة الله وحده لا شريك له، فما زلتم مرتابين مما جاءكم به في حياته، حتى إذا مات ازداد شككم وشرككم، وقلتم: إن الله لن يرسل من بعده رسولا، مثل ذلك الضلال يُضِلُّ الله كل متجاوز للحق، شاكٍّ في وحدانية الله تعالى، فلا يوفقه إلى الهدى والرشاد.

"And olsun ki, Yusuf da, daha önce, size belgelerle gelmişti. Size getirdiği şeylerden şüphelenip durmuştunuz. Sonunda Yusuf ölünce, Allah onun ardından hiçbir peygamber göndermeyecek demiştiniz. Allah, aşırı şüpheciyi işte böylece saptırır."

Bundan önce size delillerle Yusuf gelmişti. O zaman da onun size getirdiği hakikatte şüphe edip durmuştunuz. Nihayet vefat ettiğinde de "Bundan sonra Allah asla peygamber göndermez" dediniz. İşte aşırı şüpheci olanları Allah böyle şaşırtır.

Yemin olsun ki (Musa’dan) önce Yusuf da size apaçık deliller getirmişti; onun size getirdiği şeyler hakkında şüphe edip durmuştunuz. Sonunda o vefat edince “Allah ondan sonra asla elçi göndermez!” demiştiniz. İşte Allah aşırı giden (bütün) şüphecileri böyle sapkınlıkta bırakır.

"And to you there came Joseph in times gone by, with Clear Signs, but ye ceased not to doubt of the (Mission) for which he had come: At length, when he died, ye said: 'No messenger will Allah send after him.' thus doth Allah leave to stray such as transgress and live in doubt,-

Joseph came to you before with clear signs, but you never ceased to doubt the message he brought you. When he died, you said, “God will not send another messenger.”’ In this way God leaves the doubting rebels to stray-

And verily Joseph brought you of old clear proofs, yet ye ceased not to be in doubt concerning what he brought you till, when he died, ye said: Allah will not send any messenger after him. Thus Allah deceiveth him who is a prodigal, a doubter.
