"es-Senâ": Parlayan ışık. "es-Senâ'": Yücelik, yüksek mertebe. "es-Sâniye": Kendisiyle su çekilen (deve/dolap); yükselttiği/yükseldiği için bu adı almıştır. Şöyle buyurdu: "Neredeyse şimşeğinin parıltısı (senâ)" [24:43]. "Senetü'n-nâkatü tesnû": Deve suyu çekti, yani toprağı suladı; o deveye "es-sâniye" denir.
