7:179

Translation
Many are the Jinns and men we have made for Hell: They have hearts wherewith they understand not, eyes wherewith they see not, and ears wherewith they hear not. They are like cattle,- nay more misguided: for they are heedless (of warning).
A. Yusuf Alipublic-domain
We have created many jinn and people who are destined for Hell, with hearts they do not use for comprehension, eyes they do not use for sight, ears they do not use for hearing. They are like cattle, no, even further astray: these are the ones who are entirely heedless.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleemall-rights-reserved
Already have We urged unto hell many of the jinn and humankind, having hearts wherewith they understand not, and having eyes wherewith they see not, and having ears wherewith they hear not. These are as the cattle - nay, but they are worse! These are the neglectful.

And We have certainly created for Hell many of the jinn and mankind. They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. Those are like livestock; rather, they are more astray. It is they who are the heedless.

- Jeremiah 5:21parallelEyes that see not, ears that hear not
Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:
Note
Thematic parallel: 'eyes, and see not; ears, and hear not' (Jeremiah 5:21) is almost a word-for-word counterpart to Qur'an 7:179, 'hearts that understand not, eyes that see not, ears that hear not.' (Interpretation.)

- Isaiah 1:3parallelThe animal-without-understanding simile
The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.

Thematic parallel: 'The ox knoweth his owner... but my people doth not consider' (Isaiah 1:3) shares the same animal comparison as Qur'an 7:179, 'they are like cattle — nay, more astray.' (Interpretation.)

- Ezekiel 12:2parallelEyes that see not, ears that hear not
Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house.
